Birthdays!

It's the Big Birthday Week! Jacob turned 6 on Tuesday, my birthday was yesterday, and Dad's is today... that's a lot of birthday cake! We had a small party on Tuesday for Jacob with grandparents, and last night Brian and I got to go out for dinner and a late movie (no kids!).
Legos are a big theme in our house right now. Jacob got a couple of new sets for his birthday, and that's kept him busy the last couple of days. He mostly likes to make trains and other vehicles. Here's a creation that he and I made together last week... pretty cool, I think!

This week and next, Jacob and Mary are taking a swim class at Broadripple Park. Jacob is doing much better than last year... he's having fun the whole time, and isn't crying and clinging to the teachers like last year. He's still not as fearless as Mary, though. The guards have to keep bringing her back to the shallow end, as she creeps closer and closer towards the deeper water!

Cheerios

Here's a video taken with our digital camera... there's a weird clicking noise on the camera... not sure why... but hopefully you'll enjoy the video anyway!

Welcome to our blog!

Well, I decided to join the blogging world, mostly to share pictures of the kids and what they're up to.

Jacob, Mary, and Hannah are having a busy summer... the big kids went to Vacation Bible School for a week in June at St. Monica; Hannah spent a couple of nights with Grandma Dianne while the rest of us went to Clifty Falls State Park; Jacob and Mary got to stay up late to watch the fireworks downtown with Daddy on July 4; we all took a boat ride on the White River; and Hannah has been working very hard at sitting on her own!

Here's Hannah showing off some of her new abilities to sit and reach for toys:

Jacob and Mary are certainly a handfull... they make us laugh (and cry), and they entertain Hannah (she must think, "boy, are they crazy!"). Mary is determined to make potty-training an excrutiating, and very dramatic, experience... it has to be HER way.

BUT, we all have lots of fun, too, and enjoy the family times.
