Jacob and Mary "helped" me carve pumpkins on Thursday. They don't like the pumpkin insides (Jacob won't even look inside the pumpkin until it's all hollowed out), so I did most of the work.

Here we are just before heading out for trick-or-treating. At the last minute I put a witch hat and cape on Hannah. Can you believe how light it is outside in Indiana at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31? That's thanks to Eastern Daylight Saving Time. Finally this morning Jacob didn't have to wait at the bus stop in darkness, now that we're back to normal time, the way things SHOULD be. (I'll quit complaining now).
On to Hannah's birthday party... opening gifts...
...playing with her new piano toy...
...me trying to explain to Jacob and Mary that they need to back off and let Hannah play with her own toys...
...making silly faces...
...Mary wondering, "when is it going to be MY birthday?"

In other news, Jacob has a new friend from school (this is really his very first friend!). He got to go to Aedan's house Sunday all afternoon to play. They had so much fun, just the boys! Here are Aedan and Jacob in front of Aedan's house:

That's very cool that Jacob has a school friend. :) And I like his sticker too!
